Monday, Sept 14, 2009 - Well, several new things are happening. I don't have pictures of them to load onto the computer, but because of Lucio's class I've been making sculptural frogs about 3" - 4" long. They are really really cool. Second, the new pond was finished about a month ago. And here are the lovely pictures of the process and the finished product! IT'S AWESOME!

Monday, June 29, 2009 - I've just gotten home from the BEST class. I just finished a class at Inspired Fire with Lucio Bubacco. The class was awesome! And watching Lucio work was amazing. I've learned so much about soft glass sculpture. And on top of it, I came home with a Lucio original goblet that he made in class. This was the most amazing weekend. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Tuesday, May 26, 2009 - Well, I have just finished posting my newest addition to the website... ShuMai!! My first dragon... YEAH! Thanks to the tutorial I bought from Plum Loco Designs, I am started on to a new plaything. Shumai turned out quite well if I do say so myself, as did his little sister, Daisy. Whom, once I am able to get a picture of, I will post on the site as well. I unfortunately ran out of oxygen this weekend so there were not more made, but I am sure now that I ran over to the welding place to get oxygen I will get a move on this week with a couple more... YEAH! This past weekend was the gem & jewelry show, which did allow for many nice purchases. Including new collars for the new babies. I didn't find the spiked ones I would really like, but the new silver ones are quite cute on them. A week and a half and we'll be going up for the bead & button show in Milwaukee... always fun. Of course this year I don't need to buy much as I just purchased almost $300 in new glass from Frantz... damn them for having what I wanted on sale... I didn't need to buy that much. But... some new dragons it will make!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Monday, June 30, 2008 - We just got back a few days ago from Lafayette, IN. I took at class at Inspired Fire Glass Studio with James Smircich. It was GREAT! I learned so many basics and reinforced good habits and hopefully killed a few bad ones as well. Jim was a great teacher and it was wonderful to watch him work as well. I even bought myself one of his signature apple core beads. I have as yet to try one of my own, but we shall see. We ate at a wonderful restaurant called Bistro 501, which had delicious food, I had a pecan incrusted trout and mom ate a vegetable terrine that was out of this world. Good, trip, learned lots of things and will hopefully one of these days get a couple photos posted of the beads I made. YEAH! It's definitely insprired me to go further. And hopefully start taking more classes. I've also started doing a lot of fused coasters and plates.... once I get my act in gear I can hopefully post some of those as well! HA HA HA! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Monday, February 4, 2008 - Of course, it's been a very long time since I've really worked on the site. Today I just spent six hours redoing the whole site. I'm much happier with it. Not to mention I stole Heather's xmas present (digital camera) and took better photos of some of my work. I have yet to post many of them, but it's getting there. The window (Bevels & Baubles) has made it's way to NY and is at home in a bathroom. Also, I have finally purchased oxygen and propane tanks (thanks to a generous xmas gift)for my beautiful mid-range torch, I've already gone through one oxygen tank and the second is almost empty, good work for a little over a month! My most recent obsession being goddessess. They are quite fun to work with... here are my first five... in order... I, of course, had to show both the front and back. The next set were even better, but I've been wearing them and keep forgetting to photograph them. Well, it's back to the basement, have another window and several other projects I need to get underway, now that I've gotten the website updated a bit.... the work is never done... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Monday, August 6, 2007 - Well, the window was almost done. As I was finishing the soldering on the back of the window, we discovered a broken piece of glass... sob! The window is no longer whole as I've had to remove two pieces to get the broken one out and now I have to recut, grind and foil the broken piece, sigh. Murphy's Law, if it's going too smoothly, something is bound to muck it up. And there to the right is the offending piece... D'oh! However, it will be a learning experience and luckily the piece was on the outside edge and not in the middle. And of course, thankfully it wasn't one of the horrendously hard to cut clear background pieces...
But on a better and happier note... Here is a picture of my new TORCH!!!! YEAH!! I had to post it, because it is the most beautiful thing. I'm sure most of you won't agree, but here is my newest and best toy yet.... and in two weeks I will have the regulators, hoses, connects and oxygen and propane tanks to light this puppy up.... and don't worry I won't blow up the house. But I will be able to make bigger and better hollow fish.

Tuesday, July 31, 2007 - It's almost 11:00PM and I need to think about getting to sleep so I can go to my real job in the morning. And instead I've spent two hours formatting pictures. I'm beginning to wonder how people get so much accomplished on their websites, or if they are all hiring people to do their sites for them. Of course, it could just be the lack of sleep talking. However, the window is almost done. YEAH!! Two months of work when I have time and the window is soldered and in the process of being retouched to smooth out the solder and than it can be framed. Below is a picture of the un-soldered window. The best news, is that within the next couple of weeks I should have the hosing and regulators to hook up my brand new mid-range/minor torch head. YEAH YEAH!!! No more stressing with trying to do two inch hollow fish with a hot head torch. I can barely contain my excitement. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Sunday, June 3rd, 2007 - Well, I've been working on this site for what seems like months, but is probably more like a week or two. The only one who seems to be suffering is dear old Mooshu... my beast. He doesn't seem to like the loss in time he's receiving. |
